Sami Khedira Unhappy with yet Another Defeat against a Milan Club

Friday, November 18th, 2016

Juventus are the clear favourites to win the Italian Serie A once again largely because of the league lacking in proper competition.

Teams like Napoli and Roma are simply not at the level of Juventus while AC Milan and Inter Milan are far away from making any threat at the top of the table. This element may have just changed in the Italian Serie A after AC Milan’s takeover by Chinese investors. The club are yet to make significant investment in the transfer window, but there has been a lot of positivity surrounding the club. It was a major factor in helping Milan beat Juventus 1-0 at the San Siro.

Midfielder Sami Khedira was part of the team that suffered this shock defeat, but he later explained his deep regret at losing the game. Incredibly, Juventus have suffered only two defeats so far this season and both have come against the two Milan clubs. The first defeat – against Inter – came in the middle of September and since then Juventus seemed to have recovered quite well. (more…)

Sami Khedira is out injured for 2 months as Juventus struggles

Sunday, October 4th, 2015

The Serie A kicked off with a few surprises but there is no surprise whatsoever that the biggest one of the Italian League is the defeat that Juventus experienced after losing against Udinese in the opening match of the season.

Juventus received Udinese at the Juventus Stadium in Torino and sustained their first loss of the season as it was the visiting team which claimed the victory thanks to a solo goal which arrived from Cyril Thereau.

When the match reached it’s end, MassimilianoAllegri stated that his team did not deserve to lose as Juventus had a lot of chances to score but just couldn’t capitalize on those goal-scoring moments properly but to make matters worse, besides the surprising and fairly disappointing scoreboard for the home team, there is something else which has affected the team and its involving one of Allegri’s latest signings Sami Khedira.

The German midfielder Sami Khedira sustained a hamstring injury during a pre-season friendly that Juventus played against Marseille on August 1rst and it was later confirmed that the veteran player had a muscle tear in his right thigh which is going to make the player unable to play in any competitive match for Juventus during the next 2 months. KHEDIRA: IGNORE LOSS

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has said that the German national team should not be paying too much of an attention to the shock 5-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Switzerland in a friendly match before the Euro 2012.

Germany are expected to be one of the challenges for the title after they have finished in the top three positions in the last three major tournaments. They came extremely close to winning the Euro 2008 only to be denied by an excellent Spanish team, which has went on to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup as well. Due to the fact that Germany come into the Euro 2012 with a fully fit squad, they are expected to win the tournament itself.

However, they suffered a shock 5-3 defeat against Switzerland. Even though it was a friendly match, the German media (and the Tottenham news website) have been quick to jump on the fact that the team has conceded five goals against a mediocre Switzerland team. It has been a season of disappointment for German players, with Bayern Munich players being the most suffered. However, Sami Khedira is of the opinion that the national team has the quality to win a tough tournament like the Euro 2012.

“It was not a good game for us on Saturday but we should not go crazy. We should not ignore the result but we should equally not overestimate it. We can still win the tournament. The Bayern players were wounded but they are now full of anticipation for the tournament. They are fully focused. He laughs normally, he speaks normally, he is just normal,” said Sami Khedira after the 5-3 defeat to Switzerland.

Sami Khedira is expected to be one of the important members of the squad when national team manager Joachim Loew names his 23 man squad, as he is Germany’s midfield general like Cesc Fabregas is for Spain.

UNITED MONITOR SAMI

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

English club Manchester United are monitoring the situation surrounding Real Madrid defensive midfielder Sami Khedira. The German international Sami Khedira moved to Real Madrid in the summer after he was convinced by manager José Mourinho that he would have an integral part within the squad. Sami Khedira was clearly one of the best players at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. However, Real Madrid managed to sign him for an extremely low transfer fee. Upon his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu, however, Sami Khedira has found that the situation is totally different at Real Madrid.

Due to the presence of numerous players capable of playing in his position, Sami Khedira has not always been the first choice for José Mourinho. Hence, it has been rumoured that he would be willing to consider offers from other clubs in order to play regularly. Manchester United were seen as one of the destinations prior to the move to Real Madrid. Manchester United were keen on replacing Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes, and it seemed that Sami Khedira was the perfect fit because he had the abilities of both players infused into one package. However, it seems that the time has finally come for the German international to move to Manchester United, as the English club are currently monitoring the situation surrounding him.

Benfica pair Javi Garcia and Nicolas Gaitan are also on the watch list for Manchester United. It will be interesting to see if the English club will be coming with a concrete bid in the summer for the German international. Like many other transfers, it is very likely that Manchester United will also have a backup in case Sami Khedira does not desire to move to England. The German international may want to spend more time at Real Madrid given the fact that José Mourinho is expected to leave in the summer.
